This photograph has a soundtrack, the wonderful song "Ghost Town" by the Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit:
Their new album "The Lion's Roar" is fantastic, and I highly recommend checking it out. Sometimes, their voices make me shiver.
I'm now in some crazy-busy times - I am taking a Proficiency Exam in order to graduate from my Masters' Program (along with my last two classes), which involves writing two 8-12 page papers in two weeks on two separate topics which I just chose out of 10 possible. No pressure, though, nope.
Our attic is empty; yesterday the basement was triaged, and old boxes were bound up for the recycling center. Old furniture goes to the curb on Tuesday evening to be picked over.
So I'm in deep waters, but I swim, I'm a swimmer. So I'm keeping on. But I feel somewhat tied with heavy ropes to these particular railroad tracks (by a cackling villain in a top hat twiddling a handlebar moustache). Still, after I'm untied, I'll come back to you someday.
Day 119 of 365 - which was yesterday - but I'm a day off my posting. I expect to be caught up by the end of the weekend.
Anyway. These are my office mates. They're awfully glad the semester is over, and so am I! In a short while Dr. Nick and I are off to Pittsburgh overnight to eat good food and see Public Image Limited in concert! Woo!
I started subbing some water aerobics at the YMCA today; it felt good to get into the water after nearly 2 months away! Unexpected side effect - tender feet!
I feel a bit like I'm sidelined until I'm through with the semester - and it's merely days away - but I'm SO READY to be done.
I'm taking a short break from the Hateful Paper of Doom (or HPod if you prefer) to post a photo before I forget. I can't get behind, here. Anyway, one more intensive weekend of sucky, hateful schoolwork and then I'm done. DONE. (At least until fall). I'm trying to hang on to that.
I apologize for the scarcity of words here; I'm pretty deep into the crunch-time of the last few weeks of school work, and I'm mostly saving my words for that, and for Nick. But I just registered for the Fall semester this morning, so I guess I'll keep going. Onward. One semester at a time.
It was a cooler, lovely day today. Mostly, I had to stay indoors and do a redundant, boring assignment. All there was time for was to step outside onto the steps and look up.
