view from crouchsachraga (a.k.a. "the dismal wilderness"), originally uploaded by Bloodlossgirl.

It's almost the weekend, and I'm dreaming of upstate NY and the Adirondacks High Peaks, as pictured above (Couchsachraga Peak). We'll be there in just a week.

In the meantime, I can ship order for prints or photocards through next Wednesday, before our travels begin, or when we return in August.

Let me know if there are any prints or photocards you'd like to purchase and I'll dispatch them ASAP.

Heartfelt thanks to those who have ordered already! Your support means more than you know.

  too darn hot

too darn hot, originally uploaded by Bloodlossgirl.

It's so unpleasantly hot outside, that the dog didn't even want to finish his usual walk today. It was too unpleasant to photograph outside; so I photographed him inside, instead. My roommates, Dr. Nick and Blixa, will find themselves fodder for photographic practice frequently from now on.

Also, the dog is a ninja - having carpet means we can't hear him moving around as much anymore. He appears from nowhere.

This is for my friend Miriam, at Inside Space .

I really don't have much more to add.

  Moved Sale! Inventory Clearance
I’m not much of one to ask for help, usually I like to be first or second in line to give it. I consider myself a very fortunate person, with a very rich life, who is often cash poor. This is one of those times. I’m moved by the bravery of friends who’ve recently reached out for help to do the same.

I’m living in a new town, without work yet (I had thought I’d be at least teaching water aerobics by now, but that hasn’t worked out), and our house hasn’t sold so we still have two sets of utility bills. I like to hold up my end of things. At the moment, all I’ve got is a masters degree, the fruit of my creative pursuits, and a backlog of photographic prints.

So, if you like my photographs and have a little discretionary income earmarked for arts or entertainment, do consider a purchase.

I have the following items to sell.

4 x 6 Photo greeting cards, blank inside; for those of you who like to send cards, or as a gift for a friend of yours who does: I’m offering a set of 5 photocards for $10 each, plus $2.50 shipping. Shipping stays the same even if you buy multiple sets. What a deal!

Here is a link to single sets of 5 cards: Single sets of five, which includes this photo: At the corner of Classic & Modern

Here is a link to sets of 5 of which I have two to sell: Two sets of five, including this photo: post office

I have three sets of 5 of after the rains

If you’d like to mix-and-match and create your own set of 4 or 5, I have some single prints which you can choose from here: Mix and Match!

I have the following sets of 4 photocards for $8 each, plus $2.50 shipping: Sets of 4!

I have 5 x 7 prints for sale also, $5 per print plus $1.50 shipping. Shipping stays the same even if you order multiple prints!

Single prints here: Single 5x7 prints

I have two of each of these:Two 5 x 7 prints

The items listed here are what I have in stock, but if there's something else you'd like, a print of something not listed here, I will be happy to make one for you, just let me know what you have in mind. I will also take commissions for $25. If you have a theme, or a subject, or an idea in mind that you would like me to interpret, I will happily do so in the form of a photoessay. You’ll receive 5 x 7 prints (and a special bonus!)

You can pay via paypal, (please mark as “personal” to avoid fees), or send a check or cash (email for address!). Please leave me a comment with your order so that I can get it moving as soon as possible, and as ever, feel free to email me if you have ideas for a commission or some photographic work I can do for you.

Thanks so much in advance for your help! I appreciate anything you can do, even if that's just pointing this to someone else who might like some prints.

Making sense in a world that refuses to, and never has, made sense - not even once, EVER

My Photo

Things that have happened to me:

- I was born in Canada
- I lived in a converted schoolbus during my first year of life, was bathed in a turkey roasting  pan (yes, with a baster)
- Daryl Hannah came over and talked to me at a party when I was 8 years old
- I had a bizarre sledding accident
- I've seen pigs running down the road
- I nearly went to medical school
- I lived in West Virginia for six years
- I used to dj, sometimes for fetish nights  (First rule of Fetish Night: don't shake hands with anyone you meet there)
- I found someone's heart & lungs in a gallon drum of formaldehyde in the basement of a law firm's storage unit
-I've written stories
- I've seen puffins on the island of Staffa
