Yesterday I made these vampire cupcakes . Tasty and bloody good!

Also of note: my friend Eric, compatriot of the writing group Publish or Perish, 5-time NaNoWriMo champion, and former landlord is running a contest on his blog that he calls the Iron Bulwer-Lytton contest . In the first round, the challenge was to write the terrible first sentence of the awfullest novel we could imagine writing, and to incorporate the words hyperborean, hypocrisy, and hypochondriac into it. Great fun! The first round of entries is here.

I'm pleased to announce that I made the cut into Round 2! Oh frabjous day! Calloo! Callay! I CAN WRITE BAD FICTION WITH THE BEST OF THEM.

Er...

So my task tonight is to write a terrible sentence, from somewhere in the MIDDLE of my terrible novel, and to incorporate the following words:

Quadrilateral
Pentateuch
Hexadecimal

This is going to require a glass of wine, I think, to lubricate my thoughts enough to put those words in their place.

Yay, cute bat picture! Those cupcakes are hilarious too.

My dear girl, why waste your exquisite talent writing wretched sentences when you could be writing wonderful ones? (How's that for alliteration?) I do so want to hear your voice again.... send me some delicious sentences, pls.

Molly - because it's fun! It's also a challenge to incorporate the elements required. Also, I am now in the Third Round, head-to-head with my literary foe, who is thus far kicking my ass at wretchedness! (It's harder for talented people to write bad sentences - it's a stretch!)

... consider it an exercise and a warm-up for NaNoWriMo. I'll see what I can do about those sentences :)
